Don’t know which business is right for you? Complete this FREE BUSINESS ASSESSMENT to find out!
1. Evaluate & accept your current position
The first thing to do is evaluating where you are right now and owning it completely. That means no self-judgement, no matter how far ahead or behind you are compared to everyone else. Only when you can do this, you are ready to get started.
2. Enough is enough
You have to feel the pain of not getting started. Imagine all the things that you won’t be able to enjoy if you don’t start. Your goal is to reach a point when your mind says, “Enough is enough. There’s never gonna be a more convenient time to start.”
3. Remind yourself of the glory
Keep your eye on the prize. Imagine all the rewards of taking action. Whether it is money, freedom or lifestyle – use it as the burning fire that deludes you into taking massive action.
4. Execute
Make the decision right now that it’s time to start. Keep in mind that everything new is supposed to feel awkward and uncomfortable. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t even have to be decent. Even if you suck, keep going. Do the best you can wherever you are with whatever you have. Start taking so much action that your mind has no time to think about it. DON’T THINK, DO.
5. Feedback loop
Only when the ball starts rolling, you can measure what’s wrong and tweak your approach to make things right. In the beginning, you have to pay your dues, crawl through the mud and blood. You might go in the wrong direction in pursuit of the right one. Don’t let that frustrate you. Acknowledge that it’s better than remaining stuck. As you gather more experience, your brain will find solutions outside the box. Always remember to execute, evaluate your work and learn from the mistakes. If you keep at it, improvement is unavoidable.
6. Crush your obstacles
The main obstacle you’re gonna face is the demon in your own mind. Procrastination, self-doubt, lack of motivation can kill your productivity. If you want success, you have to crush these obstacles completely. That means cutting off all the negative stuff and fueling your mind with positivity. Exercising, eating healthy, reading books, traveling, doing something you enjoy – all these will fuel your mind with positive energy and keep you motivated.
7. Commit fully
We all tend to slack off after a while. Keep that in mind and learn from it. Don’t let yourself off the hook. Keep yourself accountable. You’re responsible for your own success now. You’ll make mistakes just like everyone. Don’t let that get to your head. As Tony Robbins says, “Repetition is the mother of skill.” You’ll get better with time.
The faster you start, the faster you will succeed. START NOW!
